Where do you turn when discouragement or problems come your way? Where do you turn when you have great news? Where do you turn when you are sad or scared? Where do you turn when you are happy and want to share the joy of your heart?The answer to most of those questions for me is normally to run to my husband, Chad……sometimes I go to a close friend…..and still other times I try to figure things out on my own or even look on google! Although going to friends and loved ones is not wrong, they should never be the first place we run when the emotions of life wash over us. The Lord longs to be first in our lives. He knows all things…..He holds all things together…..He knows everything about us. When we run to Christ first…..in the good, bad, and ugly….we remind ourselves that our true salvation and help comes from Him. When we make sure God is the first place we go in all of life’s ups and downs, it actually takes the pressure off of our loved ones. They can’t be to us what only Christ can be.The Lord wants us to love others and cherish the relationships with them, but only God can be our foundation for life, love and salvation. Let’s not forget where our hope and salvation comes from…..let’s run to Him in all of life’s ups and downs and after He fills us up with His love and Spirit, then we can truly love and cherish others.🧡
