Choose Joy

Webster dictionary tells us that “rejoice” means to feel or show joy or great delight.

1 Thessalonians 5:16 tells us to “Rejoice always”.

How can I feel or show joy always?

The source of my joy MUST be bigger than myself….bigger than my circumstances…bigger than any human mind can comprehend.

The source of my joy must be in a perfect, loving, Holy, all-knowing God that holds all things together.

So, how can I choose joy when things look bleak or I feel lonely and unloved?

I can choose joy as I choose to focus on my Savior’s love for me, surrender to His will, and remember He causes ALL things to work to my good. (Romans 8:28)

So, what if you wake up burdened, sad, mad, lonely, or hurt?

Take it to Jesus.

Cry, pray, and pour out your heart to your Creator. Tell him how you feel….thank Him for being faithful and lean on the power of His Holy Spirit. Then, in faith (trusting God is who He says He is and will do what He says He will do) CHOOSE JOY!💛
