We renew our driver’s license. We renew our computer’s anti-virus software. We renew our car insurance, health insurance and our memberships. However, sometimes we forget to renew the most important, our minds.

The world’s way of thinking is always being poured into our minds. We hear news on the radio, see updates on social media, and read the daily newspaper. If we only have a steady intake of the world’s news and the world’s perspective, we will slowly lose focus on the way God sees things.

Romans 12:2 tells us: Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.

How do we renew our minds? The answer is through God’s word and spending time with the Lord praying and listening.

Are you easily discouraged? Does your emotions fluctuate with the circumstances going on around you? God’s Word can be an anchor to your soul. You feel alone, yet God’s word tells you that you are never alone. You don’t see any hope of a better future, yet God’s Word tells you that He is preparing a place for His children.

We take showers daily washing off our physical bodies, yet how often do we let God’s Word and His Holy Spirit wash over our minds and hearts? I want to challenge us all today to RENEW our minds and hearts by spending time with the Lord. Read His Word. Talk to Him. Thank Him. Let His Word renew your mind today!
