You wake up and can feel the darkness covering you like a winter’s blanket.

You see your child turning from everything you have ever taught him. You feel as if you can’t breathe from the pain weighing heavy on your heart. Your pillow is wet with tears and you don’t have enough strength to even move. With all the breath you have left you whisper… “Jesus”.

You remember the salvation of the Lord. You remember how He brought you back from the dead making you a new creation. You believe He can do that for your son. You remember all the prayers He has answered time and time again. You thank Him for his love. You thank Him for hope.

Quietly and tenderly you feel the heaviness lift as the darkness slowly fades into light. You have turned your eyes back to the only true Source of light and life: Jesus.

The situation may change.

The situation may stay the same for now.

Nonetheless, when God shines His light into your heart you are never the same. You have strength where you had none before. You have hope where heartache once reigned. You have light….God’s light.
