I came across Psalms 62:5 in my reading this week. In the NASB version, it reads: For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from Him.
However, I love how it reads in the New Living Translation as pictured below:
LET ALL THAT I AM wait quietly before God. For my hope is in Him.
When I read this verse, I picture my whole self before the Lord, just as I am, waiting, hoping, and trusting in His love for me.
“All that I am” means my whole state of being.
If I am sad, depressed and struggling, I am to bring it all before Him and wait for Him to lift the heaviness.
If I am overcome with grief or struggling with sin ,I am to bring it all before Him and let Him give me hope.
If I am scared, worried and fearful, I am to bring it all before Him and let Him give me His strength.
If I am joyful and having the best day ever, I am to bring it all before Him knowing that come what may He is my anchor and the Giver of good things.
If I am walking in overwhelming victory, I am to bring my whole praise to Him in Spirit and truth.
All that I am…..just as I am!
Let’s bring our real, honest, and genuine selves before the Lord and wait for His goodness, power, hope and love.
He is ALWAYS worth the wait.![]()
I have started a “Truth Journal “, as you had suggested. It’s been a whole new experience for me. I only want to see the TRUTH in my life! What is really Real! Thank you so much for the advice!
