Post 2
Last Monday we talked about interceding in prayer on behalf of our prodigal, how Jesus intercedes for us, and how He understands our pain.
It’s normal, as Moms, to feel the urge to help our prodigals if they ask or if they don’t! But….are we REALLY helping?
Here are just a few questions to ask ourselves before we “help”:
- Have I prayed about this and waited for a peaceful heart?
- Will this make my prodigal’s sinful lifestyle more comfortable without seeing a need to change?
- If married, is my husband in agreement to extend this help?
- How will this decision affect any kids still living at home under my authority?
- Am I acting out of faith or fear?
Whether or not you give your prodigal money, a place to stay or anything else is not an indicator of how much you love them. The true indicator is how much you will put them in God’s hands; hour by hour day by day. Remember, God knows what it will take for your prodigal to see the truth so cooperating with him is vital. No one loves your prodigal more than Christ does.
One more thing to remember is to have some prayer warriors praying along with you. Ask the Lord to show you two or three women that can be praying with you. If you do not have anyone to pray for you and your prodigal or just need extra prayer, please fill out the prayer request form on my website at http://www.melainaferrell.org.
Praying for you!💛
