Loving a Prodigal Post 3

After securing a prayer warrior group, asking the Lord for a scripture to stand on, and surrendering your prodigal to the Lord’s care; what’s next?

WAIT ON THE LORD.

Waiting on the Lord is the hardest part for many of us. In the season of waiting we are tempted to jump back in and start trying to “help” or “fix” the problem. Heartache drove you to pray and intercede on your prodigal’s behalf. Now, faith in Christ will keep you strong while you wait.

The devil loves to discourage and tempt us to keep focused on the circumstances. If things start looking worse, we plummet into despair. If things start looking up, we assume the battle is over and sometimes we are disappointed when more bad news comes later.

Remember, waiting time is not wasted time.

During this time, God is growing us too. When we surrender our fears and trust God to be moving in our prodigal’s heart, we slowly realize what’s been true all along: we are not in control. I know personally that waiting can be really hard. But I also know personally that God is faithful and whether it takes three weeks, 5 years or 25 years, He is faithful!

Praying for you!🧑
