Over the last few months on Wednesdays, we have been focusing on who we are in Christ. There are so many promises in the Word of God for those that are in HIM.

Today I just want to take the time to share my heart on what it means to be in Christ.

You are not necessarily in Christ because you attend church, give money or say that you are a Christian.   When a person is in Christ, it means she has repented and surrendered her life unto the lordship of Christ. A real change has happened in her personal life. Although she is not perfect, her desires have changed and she wants to honor the Lord with her life.  The Bible tells us when we receive Christ as our savior, we also receive the Holy Spirit as a deposit of more to come. (2 Corinthians 5:5) The Holy Spirit coming into our life makes a huge difference.  We see things differently as our spiritual eyes are opened.  

Being “in Christ” is much more than just belonging to a church or a Facebook group.  You become a brand new creation.   You may still struggle with sin, but you no longer love it.  You may still make mistakes or do things that grieve God, but your heart is sad and won’t let you keep running from Him.  You are a new creation.

Are you in Christ today?  Are you a new creation?
