My heart aches when I see someone turn to false religion to find comfort for their hurting souls. This world offers many ideas, religions and ways of thinking. Sometimes it’s masked under Christianity but really the focus is bettering self. Promoting self never leads to true peace. Focusing on your success or your popularity leads to more emptiness. Dying to the self-focused life and embracing life in Christ brings true freedom.
Jesus is still the answer.
It can be so confusing when we see professing Christians sprinkle in New age and self-focus into their lives. They seem successful and noteworthy. However, if their goal is to love Christ and promote the gospel, they may be missing the mark.
God’s ways contradict the world’s ways. Yes, God loves us personally and deeply. But truly, this life is not to be all about us. When we remember that, we can refocus on our true calling: Loving God and promoting the Gospel.
At times, I find myself getting swept up in the world. I start to focus on MY dreams, MY goals, and My emotions. However, anytime my main focus is ME, I’m heading for more heartache.
What about God? What is His will? What does HIS Word say? Am I wanting to promote me or Him? I want to encourage you to stay focused and keep your mind on HIS agenda for this life.
Note of caution: More times than not, when you are wholeheartedly seeking God and His glory, it won’t be popular…even in some Christian circles. As 2 Timothy 3:12 says: Yes, and everyone who wants to live a Godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
Everyone.
Also in 2 Timothy 4, we are reminded of a time coming (and is here now) when people will no longer want sound teaching but to only hear what they want to hear or what works for their lifestyle. It’s okay when you are not popular or highly sought after. When you see others succeeding in their self-focused lives, don’t envy them…pray for them and love them.
Keep on keeping on. Love Christ with your whole heart and stay in HIS word. He is worth it❤

Thank you Melaina. When we’re bombarded with the world as it is today I can see we do need the fellowship of like minded christians..
