Just going to be honest.. some days I feel really overwhelmed. Life brings challenges and trials that can make even simplest of tasks seem too much.

BUT GOD!

He is always there patiently reminding me of His love and His truth. Recently, I had one of those mornings. I felt the weight of the world on my heart. I really struggled even to pray but just called out to God. I opened up His Word and began to read in Hebrews 13 asking God to speak to my overwhelmed heart.

AND HE DID!

In the letter to the Hebrews, the author reminded God’s people that the same God that raised Jesus from the dead is the same God that equips His children (US) for doing His will, pleasing Him and glorifying Him! Now that is encouraging!! God is the One who is working in and through us to accomplish what He calls us to do! There is no need to feel overwhelmed in life when we realize God is the One doing the work in us. We may feel weak and we are weak on our own. However, we are not on our own. Christ in us, the Hope of glory! (Colossians 1:27)

So the next time you are starting to feel overwhelmed, I want to encourage you to remember, God will empower you to carry out His will.

Some questions to ponder:

Are you doing anything that God is not calling you to do?

Are you putting your relationship with Him top priority?

When the Lord is not #1 priority in my heart, it doesn’t take long until I feel overwhelmed. However, when I walk in His Spirit and power, I am strengthened and am able to carry out His will.

If we are to be overwhelmed, let it be that we are overwhelmed with God’s love, not our worries and duties.
